The Barbell Curl

One of the most productive exercises you can do for you bicep, because you can manage such a big load across the entire bar.

There are two schools of thought on how to do this exercise, some people say to keep a very strict form and keep the exercise 100% locked in position. Others say cheat and build up momentum on your curls, to allow a greater weight.

My own opinion is to keep as strict a form as you can, concentrate the exercise on the muscles that are meant to be doing it and only at the last rep or two allow yourself to ‘cheat’ and force that last bit out of your arms.
This is where I feel most pumped and from my experience others say the same.

You should grip the bar shoulder width apart, lock your elbows into your sides. Try not to move your shoulders and definitely not your back as you curl the bar up, otherwise your taking the focus off of your arms.
